PERIOD: 2016 – 2017

Mountainwatch is Australia and New Zealand’s leading media outlet for snow forecasts, reports, weather and news. At the beginning of August in 2016 I was appointed the leading role as Editor of both the website, mobile app and social channels. During this time, I focused on restoring an independent and trusted voice to the site while expanding our audience.
As the Editor, I was responsible for the upkeep of the site along with the content direction, including liaising with contributors, content planning and creation to creating design assets. 

From proofing to posting, creating editorial and fulfilling paid advertorial, I contributed many written short and ​​​​​​​long-form pieces to Mountainwatch. The extent of this work included product reviews, weather and resort related pieces and snow industry reporting. 
From compiling and distributing weekly EDM’s for head-reporter ‘The Grasshopper’ to performing services, like switching over resort cams and ensuring the site and app operations are all running smoothly. This was an around-the-clock task, and in the event of a ‘snow-alert’, I’d be responsible for notifying the 25k database and MW’s social following of 40k+ across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
 While the bulk of my services at MW where primarily concerned with editorial, site and content upkeep, I did create visually engaging pieces outside of this. From simple branding tasks, like creating a highly-recognisable logo lock-up for lead forecaster ‘The Grasshopper’ to undertaking trip-booking campaigns and bespoke MW creative.
