PROJECT DETAILS
ROLE: DIRECTOR / CAMERA OPERATOR / EDITOR
CLIENT: ABC2
PERIOD: 2013

A micro-documentary and short film created for, and broadcasted by ABC2 in December 2013. The short tells the story of Novacastrian Jackson Brent, who as a promising up-and-coming professional surfer on the cusp of his career launch sustained a debilitating injury. Seeking an alternative outlet, Jax found motorcycles and realised the parallels that can be drawn between riding them and surfing, along with the friendships and on-going issues when riding older bikes.
From pre-production through to post-production, I took on the role as Director, Camera Operator and Editor within the 3-person team. The whole project revolved around this concept to find a local within your town and have them share their story, which involved some new-found obsession.
